About the restaurant

Carmel offers kosher meat dishes with a Hungarian angle: matzo-ball and goulash soups, a chicken-filled savoury pancake, cholent, Somloi and flodni. Beef, lamb, chicken and turkey make up much of the menu.

Choose an individual main or share a two-person meat platter. Salmon is served with potatoes and vegetables. Hummus, salad and vegetable soup are also listed; this is a meat restaurant, not a dairy cafe.

Who is it for?

  • Kosher meat meals in the Jewish Quarter.
  • Hungarian dishes in a kosher setting.
  • Couples or friends sharing a meat platter.

Before you visit

  • Shabbat meals require advance booking and are separate from regular restaurant service.
  • Sharing-platter prices are per platter, not per person.
  • Check allergies and specific kosher requirements directly with the restaurant.
